Offer Description:
Stable isotopes of oxygen and hydrogen in water are almost ideal tracers of water movement in hydrological cycle. They can shed light on water origin, help determine contribution of rain or snowmelt to catchment runoff or groundwater replenishment, identify surface water-groundwater interactions or assess transit time of water in a catchment or aquifer. All these problems can be solved on the basis of measurement of isotopic composition of water samples.
